5 Ways to Always Challenge Yourself

Constant challenges lead to consistent growth. If you want to use every last drop of your potential, you have to constantly challenge yourself.

The best things in life aren’t free. The human mind constantly needs new stimuli to work at its best.

If you feel like you’ve been taking a long stroll on Easy Street, take a look at these five tips.

Set lofty goals

In order to feel challenged, you have to be unsure if you will succeed. In order to feel that way, you have to have a goal that is almost out of reach.

Setting small goals is fantastic, and you should definitely do that, but you need to have larger, more exciting, and maybe impractical goals.

Be a dreamer.

Be a romantic.

Do your absolute best to accomplish that goal.

If you shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

Don’t take the easy route

This is the most obvious way to ensure you’re always challenging yourself: don’t take the easy way out. You are capable of greatness if you hold yourself to the standard of greatness.

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to constantly make things difficult for yourself. It just means that you shouldn’t cut corners, make excuses, or give up on your way.

Seek out an opportunity for a new experience

If you always find yourself stuck in your comfort zone, you’re not going to find growth. You have to break free of your safety bubble and take risks. Don’t be afraid of disliking something, failing, or wasting time.

New experiences are what make life challenging, exciting, and worth living. Even if the experiences are bad, you can still take the good away from them.

Ask for feedback

Have you ever thought you were doing something well, only to have someone tell you that you aren’t doing it right at all? This is a common occurrence, and it’s the reason you have to have a reliable team to give you feedback.

Swallowing your pride and asking for help takes courage. No one likes to hear that they’re doing the wrong thing. This in and of itself is a challenge, but it is definitely worth the effort.

Be honest with yourself

It’s not easy to take a cold, hard look in the mirror. It’s essential, though. You are the only one who will be able to answer the question, “Am I working hard enough?”

Nobody else will be able to truly tell if you’re living up to your potential. That is up to you. Ask yourself if you’re working hard enough, if you can do more, and if you feel challenged. If the answer isn’t what you’re looking for, make some changes.
