Mission: It’s Possible

If you’ve ever seen any of the Mission: Impossible movies, you know the mission is never truly impossible.

The stakes are high, the task is difficult, and it may seem impossible, but at the end of the day, the team makes it possible.

You might not have international espionage to worry about, but you have some goals that you may have deemed impossible.

If you put your whole mind and all of your effort into it, you can achieve what you want. It may be hard, it may take a long time, but at the end of the day, nothing is impossible.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make your goals possible. Here’s how:

Plan for it

There is no action movie where the hero doesn’t have a plan. In order to overcome enormous odds, you have to know exactly what to do. You have to understand your own strengths and weaknesses as well as those of what’s standing in your way.

Know your plan like the back of your hand. Have backup plans. Know what to do if you don’t succeed at first.

Pick yourself up

Things are going to get tough. There’s always a moment in an action movie where the first plan fails, and all seems lost. Your first attempt is probably not going to be your best. You have to learn how not to do things.

Do not be discouraged by failure. It is just a part of the process. You can – and will – win the day, so long as you keep trying and pushing yourself towards your final goal.

Assemble your team and tools

Nobody does anything truly great without help from someone or something. You have to have a supportive team and the appropriate tools if you want to accomplish your mission.

If your mission is fitness, you need the right coaches, trackers, and teammates to get you across the finish line. You have to have the right people to hold you accountable and bring their own ideas to the table.

Drive

You are going to get knocked down, that’s a guarantee. But will you get back up? That’s what people who accomplish impossible missions do: they get back up.

In order to get to the finish line, you have to be okay with failure. You have to be ready to stumble, fall, and learn from your misstep. You’re going to want to quit, but you have to be driven to get to the end of the road, no matter what.
