Happy New Year!
We’ve been through a lot this year. There’s been a lot of ups, a lot of downs, a lot of growth, and a lot of shortcomings. Hopefully, you’re in a better place now than you were at the end of 2020.
As we get ready to celebrate throwing out our calendars and getting ready for 2022, it’s important to remember what good we did in 2021. We have to reflect on what we did right, what we could’ve done better, and what we want to do next year.
How did you get better this year?
With another year under your belt, do you feel stronger, smarter, or healthier than you were last year? Hopefully yes. You worked hard this year. You have more experience in every area of your life.
Make a quick note of a few things you’re proud of this year. Maybe you lost weight, got a promotion, or got closer to your family. Take a moment to soak in how happy those things make you feel. You earned some celebration this year.
What could’ve gone better this year?
Every year has low moments and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You can’t appreciate sunshine until you’ve seen a little rain. We have to acknowledge the rain so we can bring an umbrella the next time it comes around.
Make a quick note of what you didn’t get to accomplish this year. Don’t beat yourself up over them, just acknowledge what happened. Let it inspire you to be better next year. Failure is going to happen. You have to know how to learn from it and deal with it.
What will you do to get better next year?
Just like you got better this year, you will get better next year. Change is inevitable and you will not be the same person you are today, after 365 days from now. Only you can decide whether that change is good or bad.
Now that you have your lists of good and bad, think about what you can do next year to avoid the bad and get more of the good. Keep that list close. Tomorrow, start 2022 with a bang. We can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you do.
See you next year,
The FNS Team
