How to overcome workout challenges?

Did you ever encounter obstacles while exercising?

Obstacles while working out is real, especially during a mental breakdown.

Sometimes we struggle to lift ourselves. Maybe we are on a plateau, may there be some aches or pains or just a lack of motivation.

And often feel the need to rush in and get back on track. We sometimes create a mentality that says to change everything, I must change everything.

This is where we won’t understand what that one thing, that game-changer that helped us come back was.

It’s crucial to understand the mentality and patience to reach those desired goals.

This feeling is pretty normal. Understand that if there’s any setback, there will be an opportunity to make a comeback.

So, make that comeback one thing at a time. Maybe it’s by changing your nutrition, having more salad every day, drinking water, or showing up for workouts.

Because the most vital thing to overcome an obstacle is to be consistent in our efforts.

So, let’s understand some common barriers and how you can get past them.

1) Exhaustion

If you are tired, beat, or stressed out, you may feel that working out may not be the right thing and can make matters worse. But in reality, a regular workout can drastically lower fatigue and improve your energy levels. So, the next time you feel exhausted, you might want to try physical activity as it is a powerful energizer.

2) Overwhelmed

Sometimes, managing our work schedule, children, and family can feel like an obligation in our daily busy life, and we feel a little overwhelmed. And this, adding our physical activity might look like a hurdle. However, a little time for yourself is necessary for your mental and emotional well-being. Even the smallest amount of time working out, whether yoga or some breathing exercise or a little cardio, can be a significant relief.

3) Hopelessness

If you had tried working out before and did not succeed, or if you are trying it for the first time, it’s natural that you might encounter hopelessness. But you can still find ways to get active in a comfortable way. Start slow with easy, a low-impact movement for a few days, like dancing or walking, and then gradually pick up your pace.

4) Underconfident

Are you your own worst critic? Do you feel bad about yourself?

It’s time to think of another perspective about your body.

No matter your weight, age, or fitness level, plenty of others are in the same boat. Ask a friend to work out with you. Accomplishing even the most minor fitness goals will help you gain body confidence and improve how you think about yourself.

5) Pain

Are you in any pain? If you have a disability, severe weight problem, arthritis, or any injury or illness that limits your mobility, talk to your doctor about ways to work out safely.

Do not ignore pain, but rather do what you can when you can.

Divide your workout routine into shorter, more frequent chunks of time if that helps, or try exercising in water to reduce joint or muscle discomfort.

We have got to be patient when it comes to results, and we can start by doing the right things consistently every day.

So, let’s start by picking up one thing at a time and creating momentum, and then practice sustaining that one change for a month.

This will help us make a habit, and gradually we can start choosing other changes in the process. But remember one change at a time.

Don’t feel the rush!

So, this is how you can overcome obstacles while exercising!
