Why There Really is Strength in Numbers

“Strength of numbers is the delight of the timid.” – Mahatma Gandhi

None of us are completely, truly independent, and alone. We all have people in our life that we rely on.

It’s important to remember who those people are for us. We need to reflect on what they mean to us. Here’s why there really is strength in numbers:

Teamwork is fun

Teamwork (when you have a good team) can be a lot of fun. Having people around you whose company you enjoy is never a bad thing. Even the most introverted people have people they want to be around.

Also, doesn’t it feel great to see other people reach their goals? Success inspires success. When you succeed, they will be inspired to succeed. Before you know it, your team will be in a cycle of success.

Being able to enjoy what you are doing makes staying consistent a lot easier. Whether it’s exercising, work, or something else, having a good team makes hard work seem like a walk in the park.

Nobody knows everything

We all like to think we’re the smartest in the room, but that isn’t always the case. There are people in our lives who know more than we do. That’s okay! Use that to your advantage.

Asking questions is one of the best ways to learn. If you don’t know something, chances are someone on your team might know. If they don’t, that opens up an opportunity to learn together.

Occasionally, we all need to be told we’re doing something wrong. That’s when it’s good to have teammates who know more than you and willing to call you out while informing you in a constructive way.

Motivation is a necessity

Motivation is a precious commodity when it comes to living a happy, healthy lifestyle. Self-motivation is great, but it isn’t always easy to come by. Sometimes, you need something external to keep you moving.

Having someone in your ear to tell you to keep pushing is incredibly valuable. Be sure your team knows what you need to be motivated.

Sometimes, just seeing someone else work hard is motivation enough. You want the results that they want, so you go out and start working yourself. Surround yourself with hard workers who are always driven to be their best.

Some things take teamwork

You can’t do everything by yourself. There are some things in life that just take more hands than you have. Be able to accept help takes some courage, but it’s necessary if you want to accomplish monumental tasks.

Make sure the people around you are willing and able to offer help and teamwork when you need it. Make sure you’re willing and able to do the same.
