How to Embrace the Change?

How to Embrace the Change?

How to Embrace the Change?

Change is challenging; it is uncomfortable. We all know that change is good for us; change is what helps us grow. We all know it is necessary. Change can be entering a new relationship, maybe change is exciting for an old relationship, a change could be getting a new job or career, it could be moving, changing your entire routine, it could be your children going back to school, or you having to change to go back to work and the list goes on. Sometimes you realize that certain people or circumstances were good at the time, but change was needed for you to grow and better yourself. The massive change will happen. It is inevitable.

Here are some strategies to help you embrace the process of change:

1. Break Up Your Current Routine: When you are going through any new chapter or change in your life, it is important to break up your current routine as we tend to fall back to our current routine because it is comfortable and familiar. We often lean on something we know and are used to it. The full ROY of change is growth. Continuing to do what you always do and are familiar with when trying to change or change happens is a trap – preserve the old habits and move forward. When you compare the past and present, the past will always win so do no compare because you will never give a new friend, new job, new place, etc., a chance!

2. Be OK with being nervous and afraid: It is not a weakness to be nervous or afraid. Weak would be giving up because giving up won’t allow you to grow.

3. Know you are not alone –but will have to do 99% of reps alone. You will have to make sure you get to the gym by yourself, push yourself in reps, make sure you eat right, etc. You will have to do the tough reps by yourself but you aren’t completely alone. And remember that when you need help, acknowledge and ask for help because no one can help you if you don’t ask for help. You don’t have to be so tough or convince yourself that everything is fine – know when to reach out. It should be a relief. Sometimes you can’t see your blind spot. Know you are not alone but know you will have to do 99% of it alone.

4. Fill your play cup up. Do things that you truly enjoy without any guilt. Sometimes we have to justify our playtime and know how to grow, but sometimes you just need to do things that bring a smile to your face and move on to the next. With the change, you will need fun factors to keep you moving forward. Strategically place play into your plan.

5. Contribution to something bigger than you –oftentimes starts within you. You become an amplifier with everything else that you touch. It oftentimes starts within you, starting with self-care. You can enhance everything around you through your intentions and actions. Contribute to your soul, your heart. It is bigger than you because it is the main software of you. Cause for you change does not have to be something external; it can be internal. Cause it could be a cycle, or a generational cycle from your childhood. Break it up! Maybe that cause it is affecting everything you or every relationship you are in. Focus on that cause then you will change everything around you.

6. Embrace change give yourself an opportunity to rewrite the story. There’s no conviction when we say, what could have happened? Sometimes you need to take a step back. Take out all the titles in your life and connect with yourself. When was the last time you did something for yourself? Do you really know you? You may know yourself as a dad, mom, leader, manager, teacher, etc. Do you like that version of you? Sometimes it may switch the perception of you to others. However, we do not always have the opportunity to rewrite ourselves. You can change and embrace it or stay where you are as long as you have a plan. When you rewrite your story, you do not start with what you value, but you start with what you no longer want in your life.
