Smile in the face of adversity

When you’re forced to fight for something, you learn a lot about yourself. You learn how you respond to adversity, what you can handle, and how tenacious you are.

You should always have something to fight for. The best things in life are the things you have to work towards. Constantly fighting can be mentally and physically exhausting. That’s why it’s important to recognize and celebrate your struggles.

It takes a special kind of tenacious person to look into the face of adversity and smile. You have that person in you.

Here’s why you should crack a smile when you’re faced with adversity:

Pressure makes diamonds

If you’re currently fighting for something, you may be feeling a little beaten up. There might be a part of you that’s unsure of your value. You might be banged up, covered in dirt, and ready to give up. That’s okay. You know you can’t do that – and you won’t.

When you pick yourself up and dust yourself off, you’ll be brighter and more ready than ever. You’ll be stronger and more able to take on the next challenges and pressures that come your way. Eventually, you’ll look back and be glad for the struggle.

Adversity toughens

It takes mental and physical toughness to get up and grind, day in and day out. You have that toughness – that tenacity – in you. You just have to let it out. Attacking adversity head on will help you do that.

Adversity breeds toughness. In order to find out just how tough you are and become tougher, you have to continually challenge yourself. It may be hard to do, but you have to actively seek out adversity by leaving your comfort zone. It’s the only way you’ll continue to grow and expand your abilities.

Success inspires

You want the people around you to push themselves to reach their maximum potential. That’s why you have to lead by example. Nothing will inspire the people that you care about more than seeing you tenaciously succeed. When they see success in you, they’ll want to it in themselves as well.

Whatever your goals are, achieve them not only for yourself, but also for the people you love and care about. Being someone’s inspiration not only feels great, but it will also motivate you to keep pushing further. Soon, you and your close circle will be constantly motivated by each other’s successes.
