Importance of Water 101
The #1 Nutritional Healthy Habit is always water intake! Do you drink enough water throughout the day?
Water is essential to losing weight and your overall health.
If you’re not drinking enough water now, start with 8 glasses daily. You should work up to a minimum of half your weight in ounces to 1 gallon of water daily.
Regarding weight loss and nutrition, one of the most important healthy habits that significantly reduce body fat is water! It’s the first healthy habit that we tell every one of our athletes to focus on when they first start their journey because if you can’t even drink enough water throughout the day, forget about following a meal plan!
How does water help weight loss? Drinking water helps boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and act as an appetite suppressant. Also, drinking more water helps your body stop retaining water, leading you to drop those extra pounds of water weight.
Your daily recommended water intake should be at a minimum, half of your body weight in ounces, and if you’re training, we recommend at least a gallon of water daily.
Besides, the muscle gains happen as your body starts to recalibrate between burning body fat and increasing muscle mass. Let’s take a more refined look at what happens to the fat cells once you start dieting.
When you start eating at a caloric deficit, meaning that you’re now providing fewer nutrients to your body to use its internal stores of energy, your fat cells start releasing fat for the “missing” energy not coming from your diet.
However, because these cells are very stubborn, they get refilled with water first before saying the final goodbye.
It’s like a double-check from your body telling you: “are you wanting me to release this precious stored energy?” This means your weight could fluctuate and even go higher, freak you out more, and make you quit, but you shouldn’t.
Eventually, the more water you drink, the faster you can rid your body of the excess water weight and metabolic waste stored in your body!
Long story short, don’t forget to drink water!
The Natural Remedy
Remember to be drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water! For example- a 150lbs individual should be drinking at least 75 ounces of water.
Remember, even when it’s cold, you still need to stay hydrated!
You need to drink approximately 50% of your body weight in ounces of water daily. And on active days, add 20 more ounces!

As cooler weather settles in, REMEMBER you still need to stay hydrated!
