How hormones affect our body?

Hormones can affect a lot that goes on within our bodies. Hormones may determine everything from our appetite to our heart rate.

But what are they? How can hormones affect your overall health, let alone your weight-loss and fitness?

WHAT ARE HORMONES?

Hormones are chemicals produced by the endocrine system. These chemicals are sent to different parts of the body and deliver messages from the brain. Hormones will then travel to other organs and parts of the body. They tell your body what needs to happen, when, and for how long these processes should last.

These hormone messages tell our bodies what to do with our metabolism, sleep cycles, our moods, body temperature, our growth and development, reproductive cycles, sexual function, and much more.

Our bodies need the right balance of hormones to stay healthy and operate at their best. Surges of certain hormones can cause unhealthy shifts within our bodies.

SYMPTOMS OF HORMONE IMBALANCE

Hormone imbalances can have an extensive range of symptoms. Symptoms depend on hormone imbalance and whether there is too much of it or too little in the body.

Symptoms of the possibility of a hormone imbalance include:

  • Change in appetite, resulting in weight gain or weight loss.
  • Excessive sweating
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Irritability and anxiety
  • Infertility
  • Fatigue
  • Dry skin
  • Blurred vision
  • Increased thirst
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Breast tenderness
  • Headaches
  • Changes in blood pressure

Many people try different natural remedies and lifestyle changes to manage their hormone issues. These natural remedies could include:

  • Eating a balanced diet
  • Exercising regularly
  • Managing stress
